Travel Support
U.S. students: We currently have funding from the U.S. National Science Foundation to fund travel and registration costs for U.S. students and early-career researchers.
To non-U.S. students: Students can apply for travel support by contacting the conference chairs. We are hoping to assign on the order of $500 to each student we can support, but the final amount will depend on the number and strength of applications.
Application (U.S. students):To apply for travel funding, applications should send the following material to Nathan Sturtevant (sturtevant@cs.du.edu) by May 7, 2017.
- Title of work submitted/accepted to SoCS. This can be a long paper/short paper/Extended Abstract, or a submission to the Late-Breaking Poster track.
- Sources of available funding
- Membership in underrepresented group (such as women, minorities, or those with disabilities. This list is not exhaustive; feel free to contact us with questions.)
- A one-paragraph statement on why you will benefit from funding to attend SoCS
Application (non-U.S. students): To apply for travel funding, please send e-mail to both conference chairs (fukunaga@idea.c.u-tokyo.ac.jp and AKIHIROK@ie.ibm.com) with the title "Application for SoCS17 Non-US student travel funds", with the following information in the body of the e-mail by May 8, 2017:
